The trail starts out with only a little grade.  About a mile in you cross the West Fork Foss River on a nice bridge. 

A short while later, you pass a huge tree on the side of the trail.  Continuing you come to Trout Lake with a nice little beach. 

We continued on to the Middle Copper Falls.  After pictures, we continued climbing to the Upper Copper Falls. 

The trail continues to switchback up the hill to Malachite Falls and Lake Malachite and Copper Lake, but we turned around after the Upper Copper Falls.  We returned to Trout Lake where we had lunch before returning to the trailhead.
