We had a snowfall the night before, and when we started all the brush was snow covered which made things very pretty. Later in the day, much of the snow had fallen off/melted, so the early part of the hike was the prettiest.

The trail was muddy, particularly past the lime kiln itself. There were quite a few trees down over the trail requiring going over or under each, but the way wasn't that hard.
