I hadn't known of this hike, but a friend suggested it after the Whistle Lake hike.  It is a relatively short and easy hike in the Kukutali Preserve on the west coast of the Swinomish Reservation NW of La Conner.

The parking area has limited parking, but there was enough for us.  There is a bathroom at the parking lot.

Kiket Island is a tied island with a small isthmus or tombolo connecting it to the mainland.  A sign warns that at times (an especially high tide) this isthmus can be underwater hence trapping folks on the island (unless they want to wade across the water).  The tide wasn't high while we were there, so this wasn't a problem.

The trail descends a dirt road from the parking area to the land bridge.  Here we waited a bit for the folks from the second car in our group to arrive.  We then continued to the island.  There are 3 trails across the island, the North Trail, the Kiket Trail (in the ceneter), and the South Trail.

We took the north trail which climbs over the high points of the island leading to a viewpoint on the northwest corner of the island before turning south to a cleared area at the west junction of the trails which also has bathroom facilities.  A trail continues west out a spit of land towards Flagstaff Point, but this trail was closed before the Point.

We returned to the trail junction and took a short side trail south to the beach.  Here we found some magnificent views.  We also found the little rocks nearer the water to be *very* slippery with algae.  We returned to the trail junction and then returned via the South Trail.

Despite a brief shower at the trailhead, the actual rain held off for a reasonably dry hike.
